 | Ready to Work Co-op Program |
Our Ready To Work Co-op program enables participants gain valuable work experience while at the same time providing the sponsoring agency with information regarding the participant’s strengths, aptitudes and any barriers to success. Our Ready To Work Co-op team is managed by seasoned industry professionals with an exceptional base of business contacts and strong multi-industry relationships. Ready To Work Co-ops are usually 8 to 12 weeks in length, and comprises 3 components:
Ready To Work Co-op Readiness Training
Our industry-based Readiness Training effectively prepares participants for their new workplace responsibilities and duties by providing them with opportunities to develop work habits required for success. The training is 8 - 12 weeks in length and includes assignments and simulated work experiences that will help participants develop a clear understanding the requirements of their job.
Co-op Search/Set-up
Using our exceptional business contacts and industry relations, our Ready To Work team will secure co-op opportunities that will allow participants to gain the skills and practical hands-on experiences necessary to excel in their new vocation. Our co-op search involves extensive labour market research, and job matching with our employer partners. We will contact up to 30 employers and arrange up to 3 employer interviews (with or without the participant’s Vocational Specialist present). Detailed, written documentation regarding the interview(s) will be provided.
Co-op Monitoring/Support Services
Our monitoring process allows our team of Vocational Specialists help participants identify and successfully resolve work-related challenges before they escalate into larger problems that may threaten sustainable employment. We solicit feedback from the employer and the participant regarding attitude, attendance, productivity and performance. | |
